🌸 This listing is for one Fragrant Snowball Viburnum shrub (Viburnum x carlcephalum), currently 1 to 2 feet tall with short but strong starter roots.
✅ Botanical name: Viburnum x carlcephalum
✅ Zones: 6-8
✅ Mature size: 6 to 10 feet tall and wide on average
✅ Sun: 6+ hours of direct sun daily
✅ Soil: Not fussy at all. Needs well-draining, but is adaptable to different types of soil. Has a preference for moist loamy types, slightly acidic to neutral pH.
✅ Water: Prefers moist soil but has strong drought tolerance once established (after the first year or two)
🌸 White, beautifully fragrant, 5″ snowball blooms, appearing from late April to early May
✅ These are shallow-rooted plants so a 2 or 3-inch thick layer of mulch on top of the soil is highly recommended to shelter the roots and retain moisture. Avoid covering the stem.
✅ Pruning can be done immediately after flowering if needed for shaping but this will be at the cost of its (not showy) summer fruit.
🦌 Shows slight resistance to deer
🦋 🐝 🐦⬛ These viburnum are loved by pollinators and are a wonderful nesting place for birdies. Excellent wildlife value for these plants.
✅ Plant Viburnum carlcephalum in groups to increase summer fruit production and to create a nicely fragrant, ornamental hedge row.

➡️ I do my best to package your plants with the utmost care and love. Roots will be wrapped in damp paper with a plastic layer secured over top to hold in moisture. We always put “live plant stickers” on your box in hopes that UPS will indeed handle your box with love. We also ship in the quickest (affordable) manner possible to ensure your new plant babies get in your hands as soon as possible. We do not use USPS because we have seen too many long delays which makes for unhappy plants and customers. 🙂 Shipping occurs Monday and Tuesday – sometimes Wednesday – if you are close enough for a Friday delivery. We do this to prevent your plants from sitting in a warehouse over the weekend. If there are major issues with your order, please reach out. We care about your happiness. ❤️
