Courtalor Weigela (Carnaval Weigela) is one of the most stunning displays of flowers you’ll ever see. Weigela has gracefully arching stems that become covered from top to bottom in an eye-catching show of colors. This variety features red, pink, and white all on the same shrub!

Weigela are deciduous so they will lose their leaves in the winter. These will be shipped without pots but the roots will be wrapped in moist paper and secured with plastic wrap to ensure safe travels to you! The photo you see in the gallery against the measuring board are the actual plants you will receive. Please do keep in mind that the branches were propped upright for size reference purposes. When not supported, these branches will be arching, not upright.

Is Courtalor Weigela right for you?

🚨🚨 **** Important note: Sorry, No Sales to Western, Territories, or Phyto-certificate states due to shipping restrictions in your state (Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Nevada, Montana, South Dakota, North Dakota, Colorado, Utah, and Idaho). I can also only ship to Texas, Alabama, Arkansas, and Mississippi during bare root season (late fall through early spring) due to Japanese Beetle regulations.

Gorgeous is the best way to describe this blooming shrub. It’s also extremely versatile, small in size which makes it perfect for tight spaces or patios, and pollinators LOVE it! In my humble opinion, few things can rival a blooming weigela! They’re even more stunning when you plant different varieties together. We also have Java Red. Even when not in bloom, these weigela shrubs have very attractive shapes and foliage.

🐝 🦋 If you want to attract hummingbirds, butterflies, and pollinators — you need a Weigela in your landscape. They adore them.

✅ Botanical name: Weigela florida ‘Courtalor’ CARNAVAL ™

✅ Growing zones: 5-9

✅ Mature size: 3-5 feet tall and wide. Grows about 1-2 feet per year.

✅ Blooms: Stunning, arching branches display these show-stopping red, pink, and white blooms from May to June. May even have a lighter re-bloom in late summer with good care!

✅ Light requirements: 4+ hours of sun daily. Prefers full sun in cooler climates but does better with some afternoon shade in hotter climates.

✅ Soil: Very adaptable to different soil types but does need well-draining.

✅ Water: Prefers moist but doesn’t like ‘wet feet.’ Once established, rainfall may be plenty of water. Supplemental watering will be needed in hot and dry spells.

✅ Pruning: Can be safely done immediately after flowering occurs. Weigela bloom on both old and new wood. However, if you prune too late in the season, you may cut off the old growth that produces the most flowers.

✅ Fertilizer: Feed these in late winter or early spring with a slow release shrub and tree food to enhance growth and blooms.

✅ If you love low-maintenance, need a deer resistant shrub that also attracts butterflies, hummingbirds, and pollinators, Weigela will be your new favorite choice. These are absolutely stunning and eye-catching in any landscape.

➡️ I do my best to package your plants with the utmost care and love. Roots will be wrapped in damp paper with a plastic layer secured over top to hold in moisture. We always put “live plant stickers” on your box in hopes that UPS will indeed handle your box with love. We also ship in the quickest (affordable) manner possible to ensure your new plant babies get in your hands as soon as possible. We do not use USPS because we have seen too many long delays which makes for unhappy plants and customers. 🙂 Shipping occurs Monday and Tuesday – sometimes Wednesday – if you are close enough for a Friday delivery.
