Blue Princess Holly

Blue Princess Holly is one of the most popular hollies for a reason.  It is evergreen (never loses its leaves) which makes this shrub an excellent privacy barrier, but the leaves are also shiny and beautiful.  Their color speaks to their name with bluish-green foliage and bluish purple stems.  When used as a privacy hedge, the spiky leaves help add security for obvious reasons!

It’s not just the leaves that are beautiful, though.  This holly blooms in the spring/summer with dainty little white flowers that butterflies, bees, and birds love! In the fall/winter, if a male holly is present, this shrub will produce a ton of red berries that birds love.  Our holly hedge here at our home is a favorite nesting place for cardinals too!

Hollies are also extremely hardy plants that are perfect for the low-maintenance homeowner!  Ours are well rooted and healthy in either one or two-gallon pots.  They’d love to be in the ground!
