Welcome to The Growing Guys home online!

Purple leaf sand cherry and other trees

Hi there!

Bill and I would like to extend a very warm welcome to The Growing Guys home online! It’s nice to have you here. Truly. We are aware you could be shopping for plants at a number of great places, so we are grateful for your visit & support.

What’s coming up at The Growing Guys

Sorry y’all, there was no pun intended there! Although… we did just pot up a bunch of baby plants that you are going to love once they’re ready.

We’ve got some blueberries, figs, kiwi, raspberries, Greek oregano, fennel, and a bunch of amazing native plants like Bee Balm, Black Cherry seedlings, and sunflowers.

We were so busy potting everything up that I forgot to take some good photos. I’ll be adding those soon. 🙂

A few of these will be available at our May 6th, 2023 plant sale so don’t miss out!

If for some reason you can’t make it, don’t worry. I’ll be updating our inventory for online sales and bringing back fan favorites when we sell out!

Upcoming website changes

There’s a lot of changing going on right now at this little nursery of ours! It’s busy, busy, busy, getting ready for the big plant sale. But, I still wanted to get this website live so you could get to know us a little better and kind of see what we’re about.

As time allows, I’ll be adding more features that I hope you will all enjoy such as:

  • Posts for every plant we sell including care information, photos of the plant in different seasons, and any other important facts you’d want to know
  • I’ll also be adding a merchandise page where we will share with you our favorite go-to products like fertilizers, garden tools, and even some fun yard art!
  • … and, hey, there might even be a giveaway or two to come!

Please be patient with me while I continue to update features on this website like the blooms by month, shop page, and others.

As the banner at the top of our website mentioned, I will be waiting until after the May 6th plant sale to put our inventory online. That’s why the shop (and its categories) are currently mostly empty. I didn’t want to list something that gets sold out at the local sale. I’ll be updating our inventory once I know what’s left!

It would help me a lot if you’d let me know what you would find helpful on this site. Is there a feature you’d like to see? Or do I need to correct something you do see? Let me know from the contact page.

Why we’re primarily online

There’s a lot to be said for going shopping in person looking at plants, feeling their foliage, and smelling their blooms. That’s why we still like to do some local plant sales from time to time.

However, we also recognize that there is a lot of convenience to the online ordering process. Not everyone has the time to shop in person but you can shop online whenever time allows, take a break, and come back when you’re able. This is the convenience of our modern times.

So, that’s what we hoped to do – bring the plants to you. Not shipped from who knows where but grown and sold right here in Accomack County.

I explained a little about how the process works in the FAQ section of the “contact us” page, but I’ll explain a bit here too.

What happens when you place an order

If you’re familiar with online shopping, the process is the same. You choose your selected plants, put them in your cart, and begin the checkout process.

You will have the option to pay online or cash on delivery. (Please note exact change will be required because I will not be carrying cash). After your payment and order are finalized, I will begin preparing your order and will promptly contact you with pick-up details.

The pick-up location will be close by and safe (public) for all parties involved. A pick-up time will be agreed upon as well.

If for some reason you are not pleased once you see the plant in person, your order will be canceled and refunded. We do our best to avoid this from happening by sharing up-to-date photos and communicating if there are any issues you should know about beforehand. We wouldn’t want any unpleasant surprises and would not want to do this to you, either.

As we learn and grow, this system will be tweaked so we can provide the best customer service possible.

Thanks for choosing us, sincerely

We really do mean that. Growing plants that our customers will love and enjoy is a whole lot of fun. If you weren’t here, we couldn’t do what we do. That’s a big deal to us and we don’t take you for granted.

That’s one of the reasons we like to give back. At our plant sale, we’re giving away a little free gift for every purchase of $50 or more. It’s just our way of saying thank you because we really are thankful you picked our small business to shop at.

We hope you will buy a plant from us that you and your family can enjoy for many years to come. What could be better than that? It’s a whole lot of satisfaction for not much money. We can’t say that about much these days, can we?

Hope to see you soon! Don’t forget, reach out if you have any questions.

God bless you and those you love!

Blessings,

The Guys
