$15.49
Silver Dollar Hydrangea is simply stunning! Its showy blooms typically emerge in the mid-summer (around July) as a beautiful white color and gradually fade to pink tones. This beauty can bloom into the fall! If you love cut flowers, these are absolutely perfect! Best of all, these hydrangea bloom on new wood which means your buds will be protected from the late spring frosts!
Reaching only 4 – 5 feet tall and wide at its maturity, this amazing small shrub is perfect for yards where you are low on space but want a big impact. It’s a real eye-catcher.

Is the Silver Dollar Hydrangea right for you?
🚨🚨 **** Important note: Sorry, No Sales to Western, Territories, or Phyto-certificate states due to shipping restrictions in your state (Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Nevada, Montana, South Dakota, North Dakota, Colorado, Utah, and Idaho). I can also only ship to Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Arkansas, and Mississippi during bare root season (late fall through early spring) due to Japanese Beetle regulations.
If you love hydrangeas but don’t really have much space in your yard, the Silver Dollar Hydrangea could be the right fit! This is a smaller variety, growing up to only about 5 feet tall and wide.
They are prolific bloomers and they are gorgeous! Blooms are 6 – 8″ and start out a creamy white color, gradually turning to pink as they fade. Typically they bloom from mid-summer into fall! These beautiful blooms also make great cut flowers too! If left to bloom outside, bees and butterflies will love it. Even when not in bloom, these gorgeous green leaves are a great backdrop for other colorful plants and birds love nesting in their branches.
🚨 Please note that Silver Dollar hydrangeas are dormant (no leaves) from late fall to very early spring. These will also be trimmed back to only a few inches tall during dormancy to create healthy branching and better blooms the next growing season.
✅ Botanical name: Hydrangea paniculata ‘Silver Dollar’
✅ Growing zone: 3-8
✅ Mature size: 5 feet tall and 5 feet spread on average
✅ Sun: Colder zones are okay with full sun. If your climate has hotter summers, these will need morning sun with dappled afternoon shadiness during hottest part of the day.
✅ Soil: Consistently moist, rich soil. Well-draining. Adding compost works great!
✅ Water needs: Keep consistently moist but not soggy. 1-2 times per week is fine if no rainfall. They will need more during the hotter months.
✅ Fertilizer: Hydrangeas love compost worked into the topsoil. You can also apply Espoma Rose-Tone in the spring for great results!
✅ Pruning: Panicle hydrangeas love being trimmed back during dormancy (winter to early spring). It’s very simple to do. If you purchase from us, yours will likely already be pruned. However, I will include a video on how to do it yourself so that you’ll be ready for next year!
✅ Very low-maintenance plants that offer incredible beauty! Even people who don’t consider themselves good with plants often do well growing these.
✅ Another thing to love about Silver Dollar Hydrangea is that it blooms on new wood. This means those beautiful blooms aren’t likely to get burned and die from late spring frosts.
This is a spectacular plant that you’re going to get lots of compliments on!

➡️ I do my best to package your plants with the utmost care and love. Roots will be wrapped in damp paper with a plastic layer secured over top to hold in moisture. We always put “live plant stickers” on your box in hopes that UPS will indeed handle your box with love. We also ship in the quickest (affordable) manner possible to ensure your new plant babies get in your hands as soon as possible. We do not use USPS because we have seen too many long delays which makes for unhappy plants and customers. 🙂 Shipping occurs Monday and Tuesday – sometimes Wednesday – if you are close enough for a Friday delivery. We do this to prevent your plants from sitting in a warehouse over the weekend. If there are major issues with your order, please reach out. We care about your happiness. ❤️
