Compacta Holly

$35.00

Compacta Holly is a perfect, low-maintenance alternative to shrubs like boxwood. It is hardy, has a beautiful rounded shape, and only gets 6 to 8 feet tall and wide so it’s perfect for smaller yards too. These also tolerate pruning well to keep them at your desired size and shape.

Ours are very mature shrubs, potted in 5 or 6-gallon pots, deeply established, and already 1 – 2 feet tall.  These amazing shrubs are ready for your landscaping project!

Is the Japanese Compacta Holly shrub right for you?

These shrubs prefer full sun to part shade but will need at least 4 hours of sun daily.

In my opinion, planting an evergreen Holly like this one with some other colorful groundcovers or shrubs is a really nice way to make your landscaping stand out!

Our Compacta Holly is over 4 years old and a steal of a deal at this price! They would love to be in the ground and would take off once they are.

These do like a more acidic soil. If the soil is too alkaline, the leaves will turn yellow. Adding a soil acidifier is an easy remedy if/when needed.

They also benefit from the occasional treatment of horticultural oil if any pests become an issue. Once established, Japanese Holly tend to be easy care plants and tend to keep their more “full” form better than many boxwood varieties. They are popular for a reason!
